Hey Saints
Thanks so much to all of you that came out to see me at Kenny's this past friday. It was my first show of the year and the first show with my new band. I was completely wound up and all nerves on the day of the show. My allergies were the worst ever all week but took a turn for the worst on friday morning when I started to sound like the late great Barry White. The show must always go on and so it did. I gave it my best shot kids but I should have definitely called in sick. I couldnt focus...my mic kept dropping out...I forgot the second verse of one of the songs...But I made the best out of it and I decided to forgive myself for not being perfect. I am so tough on myself all the time but I am learning that some things are just out of your control. However, the show was a big success because ALOT of folks came out to see me and it was so great to see so many people showing so much love. I am very excited because one of the lovely guest at fridays show has offered me a sweet gig at an exclusive art gallery soiree where I will play an intimate acoutic jazz/soul set. I predict that this will be the best gig ever. I love scaled down intimate sets because it really focuses on my songwriting which is my pride and joy. Also I may be playing at a new venue in Harlem. I'm working out the details now but I will keep you all posted. Until then...
peace and abundant love,
Dex
